   I purchased 4 of these planters with a “rustic” finish for my windowsill herb garden. I anticipated having to stain them, so I used Watco 65351 Danish Oil Wood Finish in Black Walnut, which turned out perfectly. While these planters may not be extremely sturdy, I don’t foresee needing to move them often now that they’re in place, so this isn’t a concern for me.    I was looking for a paper plate holder for Christmas and found that it could fit 9 1/2 inch paper plates. I also added a pack of 6 inch plates and napkins. Decorating it with a Christmas sticker on the front made it a great plate holder. Additionally, it is sturdy enough to be used as a plant holder as well.

   I currently have 2 small 4-inch pots of wandering jew plants, which I plan to combine into one pot eventually. They look adorable at the moment. I also have some 2 1/2-inch starter pots that I will add later to have a variety of plants together. The pot has a removable liner to prevent any leakages on my windowsill.     I wanted to send flowers but was deterred by the extra $25 charge for Sunday delivery on top of the $17 “handling fee.” Instead, I opted for a $13 Amazon planter, a block of floral foam from Amazon, and $14 worth of flowers from Trader Joe’s. Voila! Mission accomplished. The recipient absolutely adored them. I was able to create a DIY arrangement for under $30 compared to a professional one costing $125. While the box isn’t the sturdiest, the final look was fantastic and served its purpose well.
