   These moisture meters are very useful for checking the humidity level of plants, however, they only work for a while and need to be replaced. In my case, this is the third one I’ve purchased and it lasted the shortest. Normally they last me 3-4 months, but this one lasted less than a few weeks before it stopped detecting humidity. I will buy the device again, but not this particular model.

   I recommend this product for its price point. I plan on using it frequently due to the drought in Northern California. While the moisture level reading may not align with smart sprinkler controllers, it can still help identify over-watered and under-watered plants when used after watering. I found that my device maxed out at 9 due to mineral-deficient water, giving me a reference for the wettest reading possible.

    The product works well for the price. I am hopeful that it will hold up over time, but so far the initial uses have been great. It has been particularly useful for evaluating our cedars, ornamental trees, and hydrangea plants in the large planters on our patio.

    The soil meter is generally effective in assessing the moisture levels of plants. I rated its accuracy at 4 stars as I lack another means of verifying its precision. It works well for plants potted in soil, but for my orchids planted in orchid bark, it sometimes indicates dryness when the bark is still moist at the base. I find it particularly useful for most of the plants I grow, especially with my orchids that are in clear plastic pots, allowing me to visually inspect the bark’s condition….

    I am a big fan of the moisture meter! It has been really helpful in guiding me on when to water my succulents, as I often struggle to determine the right timing.
