I tried using this product in my vegetable garden as a peat moss alternative. It took some time to break apart the cococoir after soaking, and there were still a few clumps left when spreading it out. However, it did a good job of retaining moisture in the soil.

I received the product yesterday and started using it today. The 3 blocks I ordered looked just like they did in the pictures – compact like peat moss and the size of a brick. You need to add water to loosen them up, just enough to cover them. I broke mine into small pieces in a 5-gallon bucket, added some water, and had about a gallon of coco coir peat ready to use in about 15 minutes.

I have found this product to be a great alternative to peat moss. Although it may take a bit longer than anticipated to break down in water, I discovered that soaking the bricks in a large pail for about 15 minutes helps to speed up the process. Once broken down, I added the mixture to the soil in a large pot and my plants have been thriving ever since.

This product is incredibly soft with very few husk hairs. It has a deep red color and holds moisture exceptionally well. The scent is lovely and there is very little foreign debris, much less than any other brand I have used. With just hot water, 1 brick expands in 2 minutes. Definitely the best option available!

I am a big fan of this product! I love the texture and how it effectively retains moisture for the plants without causing suffocation. It is also easy to activate and blend with other nutrients.
