   After reviewing feedback, we utilized a wooden stake to create a hole for inserting the fertilizer stake. Both of our citrus trees quickly showed new growth and fresh leaves just a week after application. We had success using these last year. It’s important to note that since the trees are still young, it may be a few years before they bear fruit.

   I started using this product a little over a year ago on a small pine tree that was in poor condition. It is recommended to add it to the soil every 6 months, and I have recently added the 3rd dose this week. The tree has shown significant improvement even after just a few applications. The product comes in the form of stakes that are hammered into the soil about 3 feet from the tree trunk in 4 evenly spaced locations.    I have been using this product for years and it has been very effective in helping my 20-foot-tall Colorado blue spruce trees. I sometimes use a large screwdriver to create the hole, and being older, I find that using a knee pad is very helpful. Occasionally, the plastic end tip cracks, but I have saved extras from previous use so I always have enough on hand.

   These plant fertilizer sticks work well for promoting foliage growth, but may not be as effective for flowering shrubs or trees. Despite this, they contain all necessary nutrients for flowering plants and can still be used. The high nitrogen content in the sticks is more conducive to foliage growth rather than blooming.     The plastic caps meant to secure the spikes kept breaking with minimal force, causing every other spike to break. It would be helpful to reinforce each spike with a cap to prevent such easy breakage.
