   I was initially hesitant about purchasing a compressed substrate, but I am so pleased that I did. The product has a pleasant and clean “dirt” smell, with fibrous coconut husk fibers that appear to be an excellent medium for root growth.    This product goes a long way – only soak small portions at a time as it expands significantly. I have been using it in my small pots and it effectively enhances their porosity.

   This product is effective in spreading, retaining moisture, and mixing well. The only area for improvement is the packaging; a zip lock bag would be more suitable as the current packaging tends to come apart.

    I placed these bricks outside during a rainy night and they expanded nicely. I’m using some for seedlings and others for mulching a wet area. So far, it seems to be working well. Due to back issues, I can’t handle the coir in bags from the store, so having this delivered to my door is a convenient solution for me.

    This product is fantastic. I initially opted for a heavier, cheaper option but after considering the 8x expansion capability of this one, I found it to be a better value. It is also incredibly easy to use right out of the box. In comparison, another product I tried took around an hour to expand enough to be usable. I highly recommend this product.
