   I had some elephant ears and caladium bulbs that I wanted to get a head start on before the planting season. These pots were the perfect size and came with bottom trays, making it convenient to manage excess water.

   I was pleased to find white pots instead of black ones. In hot Florida, black pots can get too hot in the sun, harming young plants. The plastic pots are both strong and slightly flexible. I plan to purchase more of these in the future. Although they were a bit difficult to separate due to packaging pressure, soaking them in cool water made it easy to pull them apart.

   I echo the sentiments of other positive reviews rating this product 4-5 stars. While the product was advertised as a 1-gallon size, the label indicates it is actually 0.7 gallons. The dimensions listed in the description were accurate, and based on these, I calculated it to be closer to 0.68 gallons. Although the detailed description mentioned “approximately” 1 gallon, a 30% volume discrepancy does not quite match that description. However, I decided to keep the product as the size still…

   The planter has an excessive amount of large holes at the bottom, which required me to place paper towels to prevent soil from falling out. The material seems fragile, and I was concerned they would fall apart, although only one did. I appreciate the design with white on the outside and black on the inside as it showcases the flowers nicely. While it may not offer great value for the price, I managed to work with it.

   I decided to start my own seeds this year for transplanting, and my tomatoes have grown to a good size in these gallon-size containers. These containers work very effectively, with large drainage holes at the bottom. Some may find them a bit flimsy, but I appreciate that a transplant container shouldn’t be too stiff as it can make it difficult to remove the plant.    I’ve put these to the test in South Texas where they endure harsh conditions. Like any plastic left in the heat, they may eventually break. However, considering the quantity and price, it’s hard to find fault with them.
