   This product is excellent for mixing with my compost for potting my plants and trees. It promotes good water drainage and the lava pieces are small enough that there is no need to crush them into smaller pieces, which helps prevent damage to the roots.

   I am absolutely in love with the color of this rock. It features a beautiful mix of deep dark stones with subtle hints of light, creating the perfect aesthetic for a dark tank setup. There is ample rock provided for a 6.5-gallon tank, although I only used it for the stream and around the edges. The rocks are of uniform size throughout, and I encountered no issues whatsoever!

   I blend the coarse silica sand with my unique organic soil to create an ideal growing mix for my plant collection, particularly my assortment of succulents in different pots that benefit from improved drainage.    I have been using this product to enhance the appearance of my small potted plants and succulents, giving them a more professional look. I’ve also been testing its effectiveness in deterring slugs from my plants. While I have seen some improvement, a few slugs still manage to get through the barrier and reach the plants.

   I used these chips under small pots of young plants to help promote humidity and growth. One downside is that the chips produce a fine dust if not washed well, which can create mud under the pots. I learned this after using them and started washing the chips immediately. Additionally, avoid using them in the kitchen sink as they can clog the pipes.     I recently purchased around 2lbs of very coarse sand in a lovely sand color. It is perfect for the craft project I am working on as I needed something that wouldn’t make a mess.
