Coco Chips Substrate for Plants
Alisa C. Malan – April 2, 2024
Simply soak it in water and it will begin to disintegrate, making it a fantastic addition for any orchid plants. It could also serve as a suitable substrate.

The product has a sleek design and is very easy to use, especially great for mulching.

This product is easy to work with once the block is sufficiently wet and broken up. I was thankful to have a large bowl to soak the chip block in water, which made it easy to break it into usable pieces. It is much more affordable and lighter than buying large quantities of potting soil or other pot fillers, especially for larger pots. It effectively keeps my plants’ soil moist, reducing the need for frequent watering and preventing overwatering. The product also looks great as landscaping…

The original order was replaced. I think the first one may have been from a bad batch, but the second one was good. Just be sure to check for any plastic or foreign objects when adding water. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this seller.

I have switched to using this brand for the majority of my Nepenthes pitcher plants because of its low TDS level of around 150 PPM. I recommend rinsing it with reverse osmosis water before use. Other brands I have tried had a TDS level of over 450 PPM, which is too high for Nepenthes. I have found that this medium breaks down at a much slower rate compared to sphagnum peat moss and long fiber sphagnum moss, which is why I have made the switch.

I have tried various types of coconut coir mulch, and these bricks stand out as being more convenient to use. They absorb water rapidly and are simple to break apart when soaked. The ease of spreading them has made me realize how efficient they are, prompting me to acquire more soon as we continue adding plants to our landscape. They have been very helpful, especially in withstanding the harsh Arizona sun that can quickly damage anything left without mulch.

I find this soil filler to be excellent for aroid plants and all my houseplants love it! It promotes good drainage, preventing root rot and overwatering.

I find this product to be ideal for enhancing my soil-less potting mix. It ensures that roots receive ample oxygen, and the bricks are convenient to store and hydrate into a substantial volume.
