   I purchased this product to use as a topsoil dressing for my succulents. I received slightly over 3 pounds of it. Although it was a bit dusty, a quick rinse in a strainer cleared it up in less than a minute. The pieces vary in size, but I still find it suitable for topsoil use. The product displays a noticeable difference in appearance when wet compared to when dry, but this doesn’t affect the moisture of the soil.    I wish I had purchased this size from the beginning. I bought 4 bags, starting with a smaller one and eventually getting this size. The plants appear to be thriving with much less leaf wilting.

   This product is great for enhancing drainage in succulent soils when mixed in, and adds beauty and interest when sprinkled on top of finished succulent plantings. While the price is on the higher side, it definitely delivers excellent results.

   I purchased this 3lb lava rock mix for a DIY lechuza pon project. Although I had never used pon before, I researched a DIY recipe that called for 1 part zeolite, 2 parts lava rock, and 4 parts pumice. This mix provided the perfect ratio of zeolite and lava rocks, along with an extra part of maifanitum which I hope will be beneficial.    This blend offers a nice range of ingredients with consistent sizes. The colors look fantastic when moist, and I think understanding how they change as they dry will help me know when to water them more effectively in the future.

   I recommend washing this product 5-6 times before use to remove any dust, especially if using it for ornamental purposes or in aquariums. I found it to be a great addition to mix with my regular soil for amendment purposes. It has worked well with my baby ceilings from mimosa plants, as well as with my Hoyas, string of things, and jasmine baby plants. Since I used it for soil amendment, I did not bother rinsing it.
